Step out of your comfort zone

Coming out of your comfort zone is a big step as you fear failure and the unknown. Negative thoughts and images about yourself creep in as the ego tells you it can’t be done and to play it safe. Stay where you are! So how do you take that leap to get out of your comfort zone?

First of all you have to decide exactly what you want to improve the quality of your life – a rewarding job, a loving relationship, improved health, a new hobby etc. It then requires 100% commitment, discipline and willpower to making it happen.

To step outside of your comfort zone you need to set an achievable goal with an action plan ensuring it is SMART – specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound.

Then let go of limiting beliefs you have about yourself and start talking to yourself in a positive way. Stay focused in your thinking to create the reality that you want and flood your mind with images of what life will be like when you achieve this goal. Open yourself up to embrace this new opportunity.

Set yourself an empowering mantra that is personal to you to repeat to yourself on a daily basis. This will have a profound effect on your subconscious mind. Enlist the help of a friend to keep you motivated and stay on track too.

What is the worst that could happen by stepping out of your comfort zone? Absolutely nothing! If you don’t try, you will never know what you achieve and the happiness you can experience. I guarantee you will kick yourself for not doing it sooner! So take that risk today because life begins when you step outside of your comfort zone...
